JON LUCIEN – “Sweet control” (1991)

Killer Soul stepper from the late Jon Lucien. His singing captures the essence of romance with his rich and expressive voice. Note that this exceptional composition is co-written by Dianne Quander, Jeff Lorber and Stephanie Spruill. Taken from his album “Listen love” released on PolyGram Records in 1991.

Great voice he has! My personal Jon Lucien favourite is 'Would you believe in me?'

A truly impeccable track. Speaking of Dianne Quander, she never dissapoints.....Evelyn King 'Cross Your mind', Peabo Bryson 'Crazy Love' (extra track on CD only of the POSITIVE album...one of the best things he's ever done...you should feature it, as well as Will Downing's 'Don't make me wait'...she truly is a songwriter of the highest calibre...something she and your blog have in common!!! Keep it up...I was looking for the Jon Lucien track...mine is corrupt...excellent timing!!! Many thanks

Superb track. The Early/Mid 90's was an era that herald some of the most beautiful 'sweet rhythm' releases. Worth checking out anything on Expansions – the indie label that was key during this time. Thanks for another awesome post!!
