CYNDA WILLIAMS – “Harlem blues” (Acapulco version) - 1990
I have always been a big fan of Spike Lee movies. Here’s a beautiful Jazzy performance by actress Cynda Williams taken from the 1990 soundtrack “Mo’ better blues” released on Columbia Records.
Note that this song is a remake of W.C. Handy’s classic and this original adaptation is arranged by great musician Raymond Jones (original member of the group CHIC!)
Any soundtrack concerning a Spike Lee movie, is a considerable musical event. With this excellent performance the boundaries have been pushed way further... Nicolas, many thanks for the interesting trip!!!
Sharing is caring. Email me your mellow wants and I'll hook you up in style.
